At ICT, we don’t charge for subscriptions, and we allow other media sources to republish our content for free so that the vital information we’re sharing is accessible far and wide. Because of you – our valued audience of readers, listeners, viewers and supporters – we’re able to elevate newsworthy stories from Indigenous nations while helping to foster greater awareness and understanding among broader audiences.
With your help, we will continue to enrich and elevate Indigenous journalism, covering more impactful stories and reaching wider audiences each year.
Whether your capacity to give is $10 or $1,000, your gift provides vital funding to fuel our ongoing operations and services! Becoming a member with as little as $10/month or a one-time gift of $10 allows us to stay connected and keep you informed.
IndiJ Public Media is reshaping the media landscape with an Indigenous approach to journalism. With a one-time gift at $5,000 or more, you will become part of the movement with other tribes and tribally-affiliated organizations as we build our Local Indigenous Journalism Initiative, creating new content pipelines anchored in geographic areas and cities with high Indigenous populations.
We’re seeking 100 generous benefactors – from across the global philanthropic landscape whose interests align with our goal to advance local Indigenous journalism – to contribute leadership gifts of $5,000 or more.
Like other prominent news organizations, ICT launched a membership program to help sustain our services in providing accessible, informed, and trustworthy news from across the Indigenous world. Your one-time gift of as little as $10, or recurring gift of as little as $10/month provides vital funding to fuel our ongoing operations and services.

Help us continue to elevate Indigenous narratives and ensure Native voices are heard. With your minimum donation of $5,000, your organization will become a member of our exclusive Sovereign Partners program! In 2024, we formed the Sovereign Partners membership for tribal leaders and affiliated entities who support our mission and want to help ICT build a thriving and sustainable future as a leading voice in authentic and compelling Indigenous news.
The future of media is Indigenous, and with your help we will persist in empowering Indigenous narratives across North America and beyond.

Phoenix 100 members are part of a distinct group of generous benefactors who believe in ICT’s mission and advancement. A minimum donation of $5,000 per individual, business, or organization qualifies for Phoenix 100 membership, though we are thrilled to welcome gifts above this level as well.
The Phoenix 100 initiative was launched in 2020 to represent the transition from ICT’s first iteration as a weekly newspaper to a new multi-platform digital and broadcast news source. As Indian Country Today was sunset as a print-only era in 2017, ICT rose like a Phoenix to welcome an exciting new chapter of evolution as a preeminent source of Indigenous news.
Today, ICT operates under the proud ownership of IndiJ Public Media, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit news organization. As we look to a bright, robust future of growth and development, we are excited to continue working toward our goal of 100 Native-focused donors and organizational partners to seed the growth of our reach and impact.
