IndiJ Public Media is transforming the media landscape with an Indigenous approach to journalism, by fostering relationships with tribes and tribally-affiliated organizations as we build our Local Indigenous Journalism Initiative. This initiative supports ICT’s bureau expansion efforts as we strive to cover more stories from across the U.S. and elevate Indigenous narratives from local communities to national audiences, ensuring our stories remain sovereign as we reshape Indigenous representation in the media.
With gifts of $5,000 or more, Sovereign Partner investments are critical to helping us advance local, independent Indigenous journalism with ICT’s expanded coverage, as we continue establishing news bureau hubs anchored in geographic areas where Native people live and work.
Sovereign Partner Benefits
Fuel the Power of Indigenous Storytelling
Sovereign Partners offers Native American tribes and affiliated enterprises the opportunity to invest in Indigenous journalism. Shaping our own narratives assures that Indigenous stories accurately and authentically represent our people and communities, driving the dialogue around tribal sovereignty, self-determination, Indigenous knowledge, leadership, activism, and other concepts at the core of Indigenous identity, history and contemporary issues.
When we tell our own stories and define our own experiences, we create awareness and build understanding. That leads to meaningful connections, locally and on a global stage, ultimately influencing perspectives worldwide.
